Timber Release Plan - Public Consultation Period
A public consultation is promoted each time either new plans are developed or amendments are made to existing TRPs.
This period is specifically designed to gain information from the community regarding the impact of our proposed coupes (harvesting areas).
Specifically, we ask for comments relating to:
- The timing of harvesting operations
- Haulage/transportation concerns
- Harvesting adjacent to private property
- Concerns regarding application of coupe-level prescriptions
Public Consultation Period 2011 TRP Amendments
The Public Consultation Period for the 2011 TRP Amendmentswas run between 09 March 2011 until 06 April 2011. It is now closed and all submissions have been passed on to DSE for consideration.
Other opportunities for Community Feedback
Aside from the TRP Community Consultation Process, a number of other opportunities are available for individuals and community groups to provide input into the management of Victoria's forests and water supply. These currently include:
- Community Open Days to view our operations first-hand – around May & Oct
- DSE Audit of VicForests Open Days – Annual
- DSE Forest Management Planning Reviews – approx every five years
- DSE forest code reviews - periodic
- Parks Victoria Community Consultation - ongoing
- Yarra Valley Water Community Consultative Committees - ongoing
