Community Relationship Managers

VicForests' Community Relationship Managers (CRM), based in VicForests' regional offices in Healesville and Orbost, are responsible for fostering relationships with a wide range of local community groups. They are also the first port of call for community queries and issues of concern.

During the past 12 months, VicForests' Community Relationship Managers have supervised nearly 500 contacts with local community groups and individuals between them.

These initiatives have included:

• Addressing local community concerns around the movement of our contracted log trucks
• Coordinating truck routes in conjunction with local school bus companies in the area, to ensure our contracted trucks do not travel on the same route at the same time as school buses
• Arranging field trips for individuals and organisations to view our in-field operations first hand
• Presenting an overview of our operations at local community meetings
• Arranging VicForests displays at local community events, including the Buchan Rodeo, Mitta Mitta Muster, Wandin Silvan Field Days and Healesville Heritage Festival.
• Providing high-quality saw logs and arranging community displays at the Victorian Axeman Association's community events throughout Victoria
• Arranging public notice advertising to alert the community of the upcoming regeneration burns program each season.
• Launching a local Community Support Program in each region, to assist local not-for-profit organisations with funding for a wide range of initiatives.
• Developing cultural awareness training programs with local indigenous groups
