Forest Certification
Forest management certification provides a guide for consumers wishing to purchase timber from legal and well managed sources. Certification provides an unambiguous statement that wood production in a particular forest area is well managed according to a set of clearly defined environmental, economic and social standards that support sustainable forest management.
VicForests is Australian Forestry Standard certified, providing consumers with an assurance that our activities have been independently assessed against world standards as sustainable. This recognition helps us to:
- Assist a number of our customers to retain their existing international and domestic markets
- Demonstrate the sustainability of our operations by meeting an internationally-recognised standard audited by an independent third-party
- Standardise our forest management processes
- Develop and maintain a framework for continual improvement.
