Forest Regeneration

Depending on seasonal weather conditions, regeneration burns are scheduled during the autumn period. Burning serves a dual function by promoting plant regeneration and removing any residual combustible material for fire management purposes.

Following harvest and/or burning VicForests adopts the latest best practice silvicultural techniques to regenerate our forests. A range of treatments are used, appropriate to different forest types, to ensure best results are achieved.
