The safety of our people, contractors and the communities where we operate is our highest priority. We aim for zero harm in all we do.
This value is reflected across the business, whether it be in the office or working from home, on the road or in a coupe.
By their nature, many of our working environments have potential risks. We work hard to identify those risks and put in place controls to mitigate those risks. Our commitment to safety is documented in our Occupational Health and Safety Policy.
Coupe safety
Active timber harvesting coupes are hazardous work sites that must be carefully managed to ensure safety of both those working on site and the general public. Unauthorised people must not enter the vicinity of an active coupe for the safety of the public, our staff and our contractors.
These areas are called Timber Harvesting Safety Zones (THSZ) and are identified in the forest by signs on roads which may provide access to the THSZ.
THSZ are official workplaces and designated safety zones by law. Non-authorised individuals entering these zones are committing an offence and put themselves and authorised personnel at risk of serious injury and death.
Haulage
Haulage Code of Behaviour
Along with the safety of our staff and contractors, we have a social responsibility to keep the community safe. Our Haulage Code of Behaviour is just one example in how we achieve this.
